What's the role?

In our interdisciplinary battery research team, you will work closely with your future colleagues from the research department and product development to be part of the development of the next generation of high-performance battery solutions and to contribute to the further improvement of our battery systems.
Applying your broad knowledge in battery technology, you will support various projects to demonstrate the feasibility of new ideas. You will further develop technologies for our applications and make them ready for implementation in our products.

What does the role involve?

In this challenging position, you will be responsible for evaluating various technologies for our battery-powered systems. You will work at the interface between cell technology and battery development to apply new technologies and research findings to our battery applications. In addition, you will develop technologies further, lead and contribute to research and development projects with internal and external partners. Internal consulting and support of the development department through your expertise in battery technology are also part of your tasks.

Based on your experience in battery and cell technology, you will deliver important contributions to our overall success in the areas of battery management, operating strategies, system design, and battery modeling and simulation. You will have the unique opportunity to participate in all aspects of battery technology, from cell technology topics to pack and charger level topics.

The position advertised is a development position. The tasks described above will provide you with opportunities to demonstrate and develop your skills. A next possible planned step may be a management or expert career.

What you need is:

  • Completed degree (Diploma, Master) in a natural science or engineering field (e.g. electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, chemistry)
  • Doctorate/PhD in a battery-related subject or at least 5 years of comparable experience
  • Work experience in an industrial environment preferred
  • Experience in Li-ion battery technology (testing, modeling, operating strategies, battery management systems)
  • Good understanding of battery technology and its use in electrical systems
  • Enthusiasm for creative, interdisciplinary teamwork and independent work
  • Curiosity, ambition, and a high degree of goal orientation
  • Excellent knowledge of English, knowledge of German preferred
