Electrical Engineer for development of innovative Power Tools & Drives (m/f/d)
What's the role?
In this role, as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you work closely with developers and product managers to design and implement innovative solutions to our customers’ needs. You specify requirements of the tool electronics, which contains mechanical design, electronics and firmware. You define and conduct tests, work packages, and coordinate internal as well as external partners from drive system perspective. You are embedded in an industry-leading global engineering team to which you contribute with your broad system competency, especially in electronics design.

What does the role involve?
You are the responsible developer of the electronics system in several new battery-driven power tool projects; bringing the system from concept phase to serial production. You work in the electronics development team and take over the major part in defining the electronics solution, while acting as interface to various internal and external stakeholders/business partners, especially from the software development and mechanical design group. You collectively gather feature requirements, define and conduct a verification plan to release the electronics design for system tests. Together with a cross-functional team of engineers, you will search for innovative solutions to overcome the challenges that will pop-up during the development of the system; you will optimize your drive, in terms of performance, cost, manufacturability and robustness.
Your tasks will give you the opportunity to show and develop your skills. After a few years, there will be a variety of opportunities for further development.

What you need is:
- University degree (Master/Diploma) in electrical engineering or similar
- Minimum 3 years of work experience in designing electronic hardware (schematics, layout…)
- Strong analytical skills and technical know-how, especially in the field of power electronics and BLDC drivers
- High personal standard of performance and drive for result
- Experience with offshore development (especially Asia) and intercultural collaboration is a plus
- Passion for developing innovative solutions as part of an interdisciplinary, cross-functional team
- Strong communication skills in English, German is optional
